Michele Engelbach
Chief Executive Officer

Michele Engelbach has had a passion for elder care since working as a nursing assistant in a nursing home over 35 years ago.  She graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Gerontology degree and has been caring for Elders her entire career.  Michele arrived at The Ohio Eastern Star Home in May of 2012 as an interim Chief Executive Officer and was quickly captivated by the caliber of the staff and their commitment to providing the very best care to their residents.  In July Michele was appointed by the Board of Trustees to serve as Chief Executive Officer of The Ohio Eastern Star Home.  Prior to The Ohio Eastern Star Home, Michele served as the Licensed Nursing Home Administrator for over 10 years at Ohio Presbyterian Retirement Services, Westminster-Thurber Campus in Columbus, Ohio.   Michele continues to be dedicated to changing the paradigm of long term care and is passionate about de-institutionalizing nursing homes and instead creating HOME for our residents and elders.  The newly built Esther Buchwald Neighborhoods reflect that belief and Michele is proud to bring to the Knox County community a new philosophy of caring for elders while continuing to enrich the lives of all we serve.

Diane Henwood
Director of Development

Professionally, I’ve always had two strings in my bow —work with the elderly and in development. Often this has occurred simultaneously, with employment in both fields. My development background has spanned healthcare and education, including chairing the capital campaigns for Hospice of Knox County, Central Ohio Technical College’s Ariel Hall, and most recently as Development Director at Starting Point Pregnancy Center. I’ve also provided in home care and personal assistance for almost three decades. As Director of Development at The Ohio Eastern Star Home, both healthcare and development aspects are dynamically merged into one and I am thrilled!
