Elissa Thrasher
Social Services Director
LSW, BSW, MBA-HCA

When individuals experience illness or loss of independence, it can be challenging to navigate through the numerous care options, financial issues, and emotional aspects that follow.  I understand that each individual’s experience is unique, and I’m proud to be a part of a team that embraces individualized, person-centered care approaches.  I believe that healing is a collaborative venture, to which the elder is a central part, and offering consideration for the wishes of the elder and their family is essential.  It is my desire to come alongside elder’s and their family to help them in their journey, providing or assisting them to obtain the information needed to make informed decisions that support their values, beliefs, and preferences.  I consider it a privilege to serve the individuals that choose to come to The Ohio Eastern Star Home for care.

My first experience at The Ohio Eastern Star Home was in 2011 for an internship.  I completed a second internship here in 2014, and subsequently, accepted a position in 2015.  My educational background includes a Bachelor of Social Work degree and a Master of Business Administration in Health Care Administration from the Mount Vernon Nazarene University.

P.S.  I also love puppies!! 🙂

Diane Henwood
Director of Development

Professionally, I’ve always had two strings in my bow —work with the elderly and in development. Often this has occurred simultaneously, with employment in both fields. My development background has spanned healthcare and education, including chairing the capital campaigns for Hospice of Knox County, Central Ohio Technical College’s Ariel Hall, and most recently as Development Director at Starting Point Pregnancy Center. I’ve also provided in home care and personal assistance for almost three decades.

As Director of Development at The Ohio Eastern Star Home, both healthcare and development aspects are dynamically merged into one and I am thrilled!
