Life Enrichment

It is our goal at The Ohio Eastern Star Home to have our activities be resident-driven, person-centric, and meet the needs and diverse abilities of our Elders. Our Life Enrichment team works hard to keep our Elders active and engaged and living their best life.

Why is Life Enrichment important for seniors?

Not only can participating in enjoyable interests and activities help residents increase their psychological well-being, but they can also boost physical and social well-being by fostering new connections and providing a sense of structure.  Research shows that older adults with an active lifestyle are less likely to develop certain diseases. Participating in hobbies and other social activities increases socialization and greatly reduces feelings of isolation, loneliness, and helplessness that could start to creep in.

At The Ohio Eastern Star Home, the Life Enrichment team strives to provide a variety of activities and events that serve the varied interests of our Elders, and being person-centered, our Elders are encouraged to participate at their individual level of ability and interest.  And sometimes the purpose of the activity is to just have FUN and laugh!!!

“My job provides the opportunity to bring hugs and joy to our Elders every day through our activities. It’s just such a fun job!”
